I am beyond excited to be able to announce that my block design is being featured in Quiltmaker's 100 Blocks, a special edition of the magazine. What an honor and privilege to be included with my wonderful quilting idols! I am very happy to be able to give away a copy to one of you (someone who makes me laugh) and maybe even rustle up some of the delightful fabric I used for the block! It is Paisley, designed by Katie Frym, from Maywood Studio. I find it a very tasteful collection in four rich colorways. It is perfect for elegant Thanksgiving or Christmas projects and home decor. I must say, it looks fabulous with granite counter tops. Enjoy a fun blog tour of all the designers at http://www.quiltmaker.com/blogs/quiltypleasures/
I look forward to reading your comments and picking winners!

hi
ReplyDeletechocolate is not my fave colour but definitely my favourite food!
love the block and thanks for the giveaway

ReplyDeleteManuela
I like chocolate but not necessairly in my quilts lol...both af my daughter leave sometimes their "choco fingerprints" on my with love pieced quilts, but my girls are always saying : it doesn't matter mum, brown matches perfectly with other colours and give them a new look......
ReplyDeleteGreat block. Great use of colors and fabrics. I love chocolate too...to eat and to quilt with!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on being chosen for this super special issue and please enter my name in the giveaway or I will be at the quilt shop when they open on 11/17 to get my copy and also for Christmas presents for my quilty friends!
Congratulations on your beautiful block published on the magazine !
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway !
I'm a brand new newbie in quilting/patchwork/applique trying to learn as much as I can to start my very 1st big quilt in a couple of weeks from scratch (yeah...'cause I will be doing the cutting and everything,
a while back I did a very small simple doll quilt but it was a pre-cut
kit so I guess that doesn't count). I'm really hoping to do a good job and that my final product will look like a quilt and not like an used dish cloth ... :-/ ??? , but inside me something tells me that I can do it and that it will be beautiful.
Congratulations on being included in the magazine. I can hardly wait to see it. This has been a great blog hop, but I am glad that it is near the end. Have spend way too much time in cyberspace this week. Quilting and chocolate, nothing better.
ReplyDeleteI love how you put all of the different prints together..............and it looks so good!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on being in this special publication. I like the way your block is centered around a special thought...this has all sorts of possiblities! Great fabric selections!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on having your block featured. I love the special saying in your block.
ReplyDeletePurple is my favourite colour lol!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that I've found your blog! I love your block too!!!!
What a nice way to show off a fabric, or saying like you did.
ReplyDeleteWhy would you seek rehab for chocoholism...you look great in your photo, and it obviously is feeding your creative soul! Congratulations on having your lovely block included in the 100 Quilt Blocks.
ReplyDeleteI really love your block and the fabrics you used. I have used some paisleys and love how they look in the quilts.
ReplyDeleteDebbie
very pretty block and I too like your choice of fabrics.
ReplyDeleteWell, welcome to blog land! You'll love it here! Unfortunately many of the quilters you meet will bring you down along with us when it comes to chocolate and lack of housework! Support groups are now being formed as I speak - although we really don't have time for them as we are out shopping for more chocolate and cheap maid services!
ReplyDeleteReally, welcome to cyber world - it's a wonderful place to meet new friends and find new creativity! It's amazing how we can be connected (even in our jammies!) Enjoy!

Chocolate is a food, also a color
ReplyDeleteand looks so good with pink.
But let's not stop there
there's more colors to pair
such as aqua, purple, and gold, I think!
Thanks for the chance to win! Love your block.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on being included in the mag! Your block is so sweet.
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking and wonder if the "chocolate" is the reason for the increase in my back measurement or is it simply "quilter's spread" from sitting at my sewing machine. Kinda like tennis elbow I guess.
and me with nothin' funny to say this morning ... well, shucky darn!
ReplyDeleteI love the name of your blog. The fabrics you chose for your block are absolutely stunning together
ReplyDeleteYour block is lovely - congratulations on being included in this special edition of Quiltmaker magazine. That fabric is lovely too - I am drawn to paisleys and would love to have a few scraps of it to fondle and play with.
ReplyDeleteJanet
I was quite drawn to your block when I bought my magazine on Tuesday. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great block! I can see it in a nice wall hanging that would attract all of the attention of anyone visiting me. They would not even notice housework that needs to be done, the "few" unfinished projects in my always tidy (fingers crossed)sewing area or take their eyes off of it to raid my stash of chocolate. Are you sure we're not related?
ReplyDeleteCongrats on being one of the 100 designers! Thanks for offering the giveaways.
I love chocolate, hmmmm it's sooooooo yummy, but it wasn't the perfect combination, for me, when I saw your block it remind me I needed to eat some chocolate :P (there isn't any choc here, unless you like to go to the supermarket), and you can't eat fabric, -doing the serious face now- LOL, I love your fabric options, brown, cream are my fave shades!
ReplyDeletegreat block! I like the colorway, too... Today is my birthday and my husband gave me a gift bag FULL, I mean FULL, of chocolate stuff!! I look thru chocolate colored glasses - makes the world a happier place

Congratulations! Very cool block and fabric. You wanna hear something sad? I can't eat chocolate anymore because of my migraines. Been off the stuff for almost two years now. Don't know how I've survived.
ReplyDeleteChocolate, did you say CHOCOLATE. OK you now have my attention. My bedroom is done in turquise and CHOCOLATE. A Chocolate quilt, wouldn't that be great, shades of dark, milk and white chocolate, sprinkle in some cherries, thats it I gotta go Chocolate covered cherries are calling. Love your block, love the chocolate color.

Congratulations on being featured in the latest issue. And I love your block. It is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteChocolate is addictive, and I often had the thought -
That chocolate mostly helps me when the day is fully wrought -
There's only one thing better, than chocolate so you see -
Quilting is the addiction, that fully satisfies me!
Nope, I've never heard of you, Bate, but I sure think your block and fabrics are gorgeous! Yep, Chocolate is my favorite too. I once had a piano teacher whose whole diet consisted of boxed chocolates. I am serious, that is all she ate. She was a super-hyper, energetic, wisp of an old lady, but she sure knew how to enjoy life...one chocolate at a time!
ReplyDeleteNever thought of using chocolate in a quilt - wouldn't it melt? Think I'd better eat it instead and use other colours in the quilts!
ReplyDeleteGreat Blook love the colors
ReplyDeleteI love black and cream in my quilts and in my chocolate. I think the fabric would look just as good on my pressboard counter tops in progress as it does on granite! Lovely combo really, very classic. I'm guessing the fabric has squares with sayings on them and it's not embroidered.
ReplyDeleteLooks like my post didn't work.
ReplyDeleteI love you block and the fabrics!
andddddddd i love giveaways
That is a lovely block and I really like the fabrics....especially the paisley. I haven't done a quilt with black yet; but have been picking up some fabric in those colors this last year.

ReplyDeleteI really don't have anything really funny to say, so I guess I am out of the running, especially after reading some of these clever comments. But I love the chocolate and the thought that is a color. I love chocolate in any form, although the block might not taste as good as a bar. hee hee
ReplyDeletehave a great day
~a
Chocolate in a quilt? Definitely. I have a chocolate-in-progress that will be a quilt of valor for some female service person that looooves chocolate. How about a chocolate Persian pickle (paisley)?
ReplyDeleteI love your block - and it would look so nice with my new granite counter tops (being installed the week after Thanksgiving), so a few of those beautiful fabrics to enjoy would be great!
